Approaches to resident involvement will be inclusive by engaging with residents from a range of backgrounds and experiences. Consultations with residents will include outreach to underrepresented communities, including through targeted communications.

From the author of this website:
As a LiveWest Homes Limited resident and person that produces this website I am glad that my voice can be heard "without fear" and that my rights to inform are protected under the charter.

It is clear though that "we" as residents are not receiving the rights we should expect under the charter and that "we" are not being listened to collectively, only as individuals, and as a minority as the majority of people are afraid to say anything, for as elderly people they are too old, frail and insecure to want to get involved. "We" should not have get our own petitions together, it is obviously the landlord has a right to consult, but in doing so it should also not hide behind "data protection" especially where there is a need for community consultation where a serious matter affects all. Does LiveWest want to divide or alienate, seek to bully, or seek to represent those who are to afraid to have an opinion. "We" have as a community experienced the "fear" exists with elderly people who are afraid to share their views. This is why a local petition was collected and LiveWest Homes Limited were told the petition was bound by data protection and they were not allowed to see the names of those, the majority, of individuals within the residential block who signed it. The petition was seen by an independent Cornwall County Councillor that validated the petition as an independent third party.

There are various specific issues that have arisen that display that LiveWest Homes Limited are not following the National Housing Federation "Together with tenants charter". A report will be submitted to the National Housing Federation to ensure FULL compliance going forward. In other words LiveWest Homes Limited will be put on notice given the evidence that have already been collected and the support there is for retaining "fire extinguishers" at our particular residence.

Any decision LiveWest Homes Limited needs to take in relation to fire extinguishers needs to be on a site to site basis and not "national policy" based on cutting "Public Liability cover" or other financial saving. We as residents already pay for "fire extinguishers and their servicing" out of our service charge, in doing so "we" as residents understand "we" are liable should we need or chose to use the equipment. Of course if liability is an issue, the issue could be sorted by a simple change in the tenancy agreement where fire extingushers are decided to be retained at a specified site / building!
